This day tour combines the natural beauty of Cenote Chukumaltik with the pottery tradition of Amatenango del Valle. It's an ideal experience for those looking to swim in crystal-clear waters and connect with the living culture of Chiapas all in one trip.

The day starts with hotel pickup at 8:00 am, followed by an approximately 2-hour drive to the cenote, where you'll have plenty of time to swim and relax surrounded by lush vegetation.

You'll then continue to Amatenango del Valle, a town known for its pottery tradition. There you'll visit a local artisan's home and take part in making clay figures, guided by the locals throughout the process.

Before heading back to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, there's time for an optional meal (not included) in the municipality of Teopisca. The return is expected around 5:00 pm.

Itinerary

  1. Departure and hotel pickup — We start the tour with hotel pickup and an approximately 2-hour transfer to Cenote Chukumaltik.
  2. Visit to Cenote Chukumaltik — You'll have around 2 hours 30 minutes at the cenote, with plenty of time to swim and relax.
  3. Amatenango del Valle — Visit to a local artisan's home, where you'll spend an hour making clay figures guided by the locals.
  4. Optional lunch in Teopisca — Before heading back, there's time for an optional meal in the municipality of Teopisca (not included).
  5. Return to San Cristóbal — Return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas at around 5:00 pm.

A minimum of 2 people is required to run the tour. Book at least 2 days in advance. Maximum capacity is 15 people. The transfer to the cenote takes approximately 2 hours. Lunch in Teopisca is optional and not included.
